DentiPath SkillsLab Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026. This policy explains how the DentiPath SkillsLab™ app handles local practice history, optional camera access, imports, exports, and its optional one-time Full Access purchase. It supplements the general DentiPath privacy policy.
Plain-language summary. SkillsLab is local-first. No DentiPath account is required. The current release has no ads or third-party analytics and does not send practice history, scores, tooth selections, camera images, AR scene data, or purchase events to DentiPath. Optional AR camera processing stays on the device. Apple processes the optional Full Access purchase and restoration through the App Store. Practice data leaves the app only when you deliberately export or share a file, or when your own device backup includes the app’s local data.
1. Who we are
DentiPath SkillsLab is built by Dentipath Technologies Inc., operating publicly as DentiPath, a Canadian software company. Contact: support@dentipath.ca.
2. What SkillsLab stores
The app can store practice attempts on your device, including the module and model identifier, task result, geometric score, duration, completion time, and an optional interaction trace used for local review and export. It does not require your name, email address, account, patient information, school record, or clinical record. Practice history is stored in the app’s private Application Support container with iOS at-rest file protection.
3. Optional camera and augmented reality
Camera permission is requested only if you choose the optional AR tooth viewer. Apple’s ARKit and RealityKit process the camera feed and device motion on your device to locate a surface and place a bundled tooth model. SkillsLab does not record or save photos or video, and it does not transmit the camera feed, room image, plane map, or AR interaction data to DentiPath. The standard 3D viewer and learning modules remain available without camera permission.
4. Imports, exports, and sharing
You may choose a compatible SkillsLab practice-history file to import. The selected file is read only for that import, is size- and format-checked, and is not uploaded to DentiPath. You may also create practice summaries, score or trace exports, recovery files, and an asset manifest. These files remain local until you select a destination in Apple’s share sheet. After a file leaves SkillsLab, the destination you chose controls it.
5. Network connections and external links
The current SkillsLab learning, viewer, scoring, history, and AR features use bundled resources and do not require a DentiPath service connection. A verified Full Access purchase remains usable with those bundled features offline. Product information, purchase, and Restore Purchases use Apple’s StoreKit and App Store services; Apple processes the Apple Account, payment, transaction, and storefront information under Apple’s policies. DentiPath does not receive that information in an account, analytics system, or entitlement server. If you open Privacy Policy, Support, Terms, or another website link, your browser connects to that site. DentiPath.ca is delivered through Cloudflare, which necessarily processes ordinary connection information such as an IP address to deliver and secure the page. Apple also processes App Store downloads, updates, crash diagnostics you choose to share with Apple, and related platform services.
6. Device backups and retention
SkillsLab practice history is stored locally and may be included in an iCloud or computer device backup according to your Apple backup settings. Clear Practice History in Settings to remove attempts and local recovery copies from the app, or delete the app to remove its app-container data. Files that you exported or saved elsewhere remain until you delete them from those destinations.
7. Keep patient information out
SkillsLab is an educational, pre-clinic study aid and is not a patient-record or clinical decision system. Do not put patient names, chart numbers, health identifiers, treatment notes, images, or other patient-identifying information into filenames or imported material. The app does not need this information.
8. Children and educational use
SkillsLab is intended for dental learners and professionals and is not directed to children under 13. It does not assess readiness for patient care and does not replace a curriculum, faculty instruction, supervised simulation, or professional judgment.
9. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions: support@dentipath.ca. See also SkillsLab Support, the general privacy policy, and the Terms of Use.
