Legal
Terms of Use
Effective date: July 19, 2026. These terms apply to dentipath.ca and DentiPath™ apps, including DentiPath Finance™, DentiPath Ledger™, DentiPath Launch™, and DentiPath SkillsLab™.
Important. DentiPath products are for planning and record-keeping, not professional advice. They are not financial, legal, tax, accounting, employment, clinical, or other professional advice.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Dentipath Technologies Inc., operating publicly as DentiPath (“DentiPath,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By using dentipath.ca or a DentiPath app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the website or apps. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use a product only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and any purchase must be authorized by the applicable Apple account holder.
A French version of these terms is available. Québec users may review and use the French version before agreeing; choosing the English version does not waive any language right provided by law.
2. Products covered
These terms cover the DentiPath website and DentiPath apps, including DentiPath Finance, DentiPath Ledger, DentiPath Launch, DentiPath SkillsLab, and future DentiPath apps as they become available. SkillsLab is currently described as coming soon and is not offered for download until its product page says otherwise. Features, pricing, trial availability, platform support, and product descriptions may change before or after release.
Current app releases are local-first and do not require a DentiPath account for the core experience. DentiPath Ledger includes CSV, Excel, and pasted-table import for financial totals. Sync, browser access, accounts, hosted services, scanning, image import, and OCR may be described as possible future capabilities but are not included in current releases. If released later, optional convenience features may involve Apple, DentiPath, or service providers processing selected data. Their data handling and any separate terms will be explained before use. Unless a product page clearly says otherwise, the core local experience will remain usable without them.
3. What the products are
DentiPath products help dental learners and professionals practise anatomy and work with professional financial information through drills, interactive models, calculators, saved scenarios, split calculations, summaries, reports, and similar educational, planning, and record-keeping features, which vary by app. SkillsLab is an educational, pre-clinic practice aid; it does not assess readiness for patient care or replace a curriculum, faculty instruction, supervised simulation, or professional judgment. DentiPath products are not practice-management, charting, billing, payroll, tax-filing, accounting, legal, medical-device, or clinical decision-support systems. They are not an official system of record and must not be the sole copy of information you are required to preserve. Maintain authoritative records in the systems required by your employer, regulator, school, contract, tax authority, or applicable law.
4. No professional advice
Financial outputs are estimates for planning and record-keeping. SkillsLab scores and feedback use task-specific educational rules. Outputs depend on the information you enter, the assumptions or activity you choose, and the product’s stated method. They are not a substitute for advice, instruction, assessment, or judgment from qualified professionals, and no professional relationship is created by using DentiPath products. Verify important numbers and learning conclusions before acting on them.
5. No patient information
You agree not to enter patient-identifying information or clinical documentation into DentiPath products, and not to use them as a patient-record system. You are responsible for complying with the privacy, professional, and record-keeping obligations that apply to you.
The apps are designed to exclude patient data, not to rely on this restriction alone. Entries use structured fields rather than open clinical charts or free-text notes, and DentiPath Ledger and DentiPath Launch include an on-device check on their optional reference, label, or note fields that helps keep patient-identifying text out and can prevent saving it. In current releases, this screening runs locally on your device and is not transmitted to DentiPath.
6. Your data and your responsibility
App data is stored on your device by default and is under your control. DentiPath products are not your system of record. You are responsible for maintaining current, tested backups before deleting an app, changing or replacing a device, installing major updates, joining a beta, enabling a future sync feature, or relying on an export. Backup, export, restore, and any future sync operation can fail, be incomplete, create duplicates, overwrite newer information, or be affected by device storage, permissions, connectivity, provider availability, file corruption, password loss, or operating-system behaviour. Verify that a backup or export opens and contains what you expect before deleting an original.
Backup formats vary by app: DentiPath Ledger backups are always encrypted with a password you set, with no unencrypted option, and because the encryption is tied to your password, DentiPath cannot read or recover one, so keep your password safe; current DentiPath Launch backups are also password-encrypted, and older plain JSON Launch backup files should be stored securely if you still have copies. CSV and PDF reports are separate exports you create and share yourself. To the extent permitted by law, DentiPath is not responsible for data loss arising from device loss or failure, deletion, a lost backup password, failed or stale backups, restore or sync conflicts, provider outages, or operating-system behaviour.
Ledger file import is intended for financial totals only, such as production, collections, lab fee, and expense reports. If you import a CSV, Excel file, or pasted table, you are responsible for having the right to use the material, excluding patient-identifying and other prohibited information, reviewing the source file, confirming field mappings and calculations, and correcting or deleting inaccurate generated entries before relying on or sharing them. Scanning, image import, camera import, OCR, and AI-assisted import are not available in current releases; if offered later, similar review duties will apply.
7. Purchases, subscriptions, and trials
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. Any subscription renews automatically until cancelled in your Apple account settings; free trials, where offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. Prices may change for future billing periods with notice through the App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple.
A one-time, permanent, or “lifetime” purchase describes the entitlement identified on the purchase screen for the supported product and platform; it does not guarantee that every current or future feature, online service, operating system, device, or separate product will remain available forever or be included without charge. We may add separately priced features or services, subject to applicable law and the App Store terms. We will not convert an existing one-time entitlement into a recurring subscription without your express purchase authorization.
Nothing in these terms limits a cancellation, refund, warranty, disclosure, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a mandatory rule where you live conflicts with these terms, that rule controls to the extent of the conflict.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the products. Misuse includes reverse engineering except as permitted by law, circumventing technical protections, using the products to infringe others’ rights or violate law, and misrepresenting DentiPath outputs as professional advice to others. For the website and any future browser or account service, you must not probe or disrupt security, scrape at unreasonable volume, send malware, automate abusive traffic, attempt unauthorized access, impersonate another person, or use the service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, harmful, or patient-identifying content.
9. Intellectual property
DentiPath products, including software, design, text, and branding, are owned by Dentipath Technologies Inc. and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. The information you enter remains yours.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
DentiPath products are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the products will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that calculations match the terms of any particular contract.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dentipath Technologies Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or professional, financial, employment, or clinical outcomes arising from use of the products. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the product (through the App Store or otherwise) in the twelve months before the claim and CAD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, these limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify DentiPath against third-party claims arising directly from your unlawful misuse of the products, your material violation of these terms, or your violation of third-party rights, including entering patient-identifying information contrary to these terms. This section does not require you to indemnify DentiPath for its own negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of law.
13. Changes and availability
We may update, change, gate, rename, repackage, limit, suspend, or discontinue features or products, including optional online services and integrations. Entitlements remain subject to the purchase terms shown at the time of purchase, applicable law, platform availability, and the App Store terms. We may update these terms prospectively by posting a revised version with a new effective date. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the website, the app, or App Store release notes and will request express agreement where required by law. A change does not retroactively remove a right you already have under a completed purchase or mandatory law.
14. Account security
DentiPath accounts are not available in current releases. If a future feature requires an account, you will be responsible for providing accurate information, protecting credentials and recovery methods, using the account only as authorized, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except to the extent caused by DentiPath’s failure to meet obligations imposed by law.
15. Beta and pre-release software
Beta, TestFlight, preview, and other pre-release versions may be incomplete, change without notice, contain defects, expire, or cause data loss. Do not use pre-release software as a system of record or with your only copy of important data. Back up and verify your data before installing or testing it. Pre-release features may never become generally available.
16. Apple App Store terms
The apps are licensed, not sold. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to each app unless the App Store presents a valid custom licence for that app; these terms supplement that licence and do not restrict Apple’s Usage Rules, including permitted Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
The licence is between you and DentiPath, not Apple. DentiPath, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, maintenance and support, and claims concerning product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, privacy, or third-party intellectual-property rights. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If an app fails to conform to an applicable warranty that has not been validly excluded, you may notify Apple for any purchase-price refund available under Apple’s terms; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not listed on a United States government prohibited- or restricted-party list.
17. Termination
You may stop using the products at any time by deleting the apps. We may suspend or terminate your licence to use the products if you materially breach these terms. On termination, the licence in section 9 ends, but locally stored data remains on your device and under your control until you delete it, and any paid entitlement remains subject to the purchase terms shown at the time of purchase and applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, survive termination.
18. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and DentiPath about the products and replace prior discussions. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect and the provision is enforced to the maximum extent permitted. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts located in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
