DentiPath Launch Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 9, 2026. This policy explains how the DentiPath Launch™ app handles privacy. It supplements the general DentiPath privacy policy, which also applies.
Plain-language summary. DentiPath Launch is local-first. In the current release, planning data is stored on your device by default, no DentiPath account is required, and the app does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs. iCloud sync, browser access, accounts, and hosted convenience features are not included in the current release. Reports and backups are created only when you choose. Current Launch backups are password-encrypted; DentiPath cannot read or recover them. You can turn on a Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode app lock. Enter only your own planning figures, never patient or other sensitive information.
1. Who we are
DentiPath Launch is built by Dentipath Technologies Inc., operating publicly as DentiPath, a Canadian software company. In this policy, “DentiPath,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Dentipath Technologies Inc. Contact: support@dentipath.ca.
2. Local-first by design
DentiPath Launch is a personal planning app for the path from dental school to practice: school costs, debt scenarios, a monthly budget, a graduation transition plan, and a before-tax associate-income preview. In the current release, everything you enter is stored locally on your device by default. The app requires no account or login and does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs. iCloud sync, browser access, accounts, and hosted convenience features are not included in the current release. The current planning features work offline.
3. What the app connects to
The current app makes two limited kinds of network connection; neither is intended to carry your planning entries:
- Purchases. When you buy the optional Launch Pro unlock, the purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. DentiPath does not receive your payment details.
- Service notices. When you open or return to the app, DentiPath Launch may request a small file that lists occasional service notices (for example, an “update available” message). In the current release, that request is not designed to include your planning entries, an account identifier, or an app-specific device identifier, and the connection stores no DentiPath cookies. If it fails, the app continues. The file is served from dentipath.ca by Cloudflare, which processes basic connection data such as your IP address to deliver and secure the request.
4. Keep sensitive information out
DentiPath Launch is a personal planning tool, not a record system for anyone else. Enter only your own planning figures, such as costs, loans, budget amounts, and income assumptions. Do not enter patient names, chart numbers, dates of birth, health-card numbers, treatment notes, or any other patient-identifying information. Do not enter government identifiers such as a social insurance number, bank credentials, or full payment-card numbers, and there is no need to enter transcripts, reference letters, personal statements, or other admissions documents. The app is designed so none of this is needed.
Most fields are structured numbers and choices rather than open text. Where a short optional label or note is allowed, an on-device check helps keep patient-identifying text out and can prevent saving text that looks identifiable. In the current release, this check runs locally on your device and is not sent to DentiPath for screening.
5. Device access and app lock
Your planning data is held in an app-private location with at-rest file protection, so it is encrypted on the device while the device is locked. That location is excluded from device-level backups, so an iCloud or computer backup of your device does not include your DentiPath Launch data; use the in-app encrypted backup to move or recover it. You can also turn on an optional app lock that requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to open Launch, and the app switcher shows a privacy cover instead of your numbers. The current release does not provide a DentiPath account, password recovery, sync, or a hosted copy of your planning data.
6. Reports, exports, and backups
DentiPath Launch creates files only when you ask it to, and shares them only through the iOS share sheet to destinations you pick: a PDF plan summary and a CSV detail export (part of Launch Pro), and a password-encrypted backup of your planning data. One encrypted backup export is included without Pro, and restoring a backup is always available without Pro.
Current backup exports are encrypted with a password you set. Because the encryption key is derived from your password, DentiPath cannot read or recover a backup; if you forget the password, the backup cannot be opened. Older plain JSON backups created before encrypted backups should be stored securely if you still have copies. Once a backup, PDF, or CSV leaves the app, it is governed by the destination you choose. Restoring a backup currently reads only a DentiPath Launch backup file; the current release does not import third-party data and does not scan or read documents or images.
7. Shared on-device preferences
If you also have DentiPath Finance™ or DentiPath Ledger™ installed on the same device, the apps can share a few non-identifying defaults (such as currency notation, collection rate, associate split, and card theme) through an Apple App Group container, so the suite agrees on numbers you have already entered. In the current release, this App Group sharing occurs locally on that device and is not transmitted to DentiPath.
8. Future optional convenience features
Optional sync, browser access, accounts, hosted services, import, and scanning features are not included in the current release. If a future release offers one of these capabilities, it will be separately described before use, including what data is transmitted, where it is stored, which service providers process it, and how to disable or delete it. The core local app experience will remain usable without an optional convenience feature unless the relevant product page clearly states otherwise.
9. Purchases
Launch Pro is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription, processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. DentiPath does not receive your payment details, only aggregate, non-identifying sales reporting.
10. Deleting your data
Delete individual entries in the app, or delete the app to remove its on-device data. Any encrypted backups, older plain JSON backups, PDF summaries, or CSV files you created and saved elsewhere remain until you delete them; device-level backups do not include your DentiPath Launch data.
11. Children
DentiPath Launch is intended for prospective and current dental students and dental professionals and is not directed to children under 13. A user under the age of majority may use it only with a parent or legal guardian’s permission and supervision. See the general privacy policy for how to report information sent by a child.
12. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new effective date. Questions: support@dentipath.ca. See also the general privacy policy, Terms of Use, and Disclaimer.
