Reading the result
The projected program cost is the headline number: tuition, fees, living costs, and supplies added up for every year of the program, plus your one-time equipment. When you set an inflation rate, each year is a little higher than the last, which is why the projected total runs ahead of the same plan in today's dollars.
The default plan, four years at roughly $80,000 of recurring annual cost plus $12,000 of equipment, lands near $350,000 once a modest inflation rate is applied. Living costs are often the quietest line and the easiest to underestimate, so it is worth entering a realistic monthly rent and food figure rather than a hopeful one.

Questions
Does this calculator send my numbers anywhere?
In the current version, calculations run locally in your browser. Values entered in this calculator are not transmitted to DentiPath, saved to an account, or used for advertising tracking.
What should I include in the cost of dental school?
Tuition and academic fees, living costs such as rent, food, and transit, recurring supplies and instruments, and one-time equipment like loupes or a laptop. Board exams, licensing, and relocation usually come at graduation and are planned separately.
Does this include inflation?
Only if you set an inflation rate. When you do, the recurring categories grow each year across the program, and the result also shows the same plan in today's dollars for comparison.
